NIHONWELD NHF-400 is a low-hydrogen hardfacing electrode designed to produce a wear-resistant martensitic weld deposit with a typical hardness of 35–40 HRC (350–400 HV). It provides excellent resistance to metal-to-metal wear, moderate abrasion, and light impact while maintaining sufficient toughness to minimize cracking. It operates on AC or DC (+) and is commonly used for rebuilding and hardfacing heavy equipment components.
Machinability:
Although NHF-400 is sometimes grouped with machinable hardfacing electrodes, the deposited weld metal at 35–40 HRC is difficult to machine using conventional cutting tools. It is generally intended to be used close to its final dimensions, with only minor finishing by grinding if required.
Typical Applications:
• Bulldozer links
• Idlers
• Rollers
• Sprockets
• Other earthmoving equipment subjected to metal-to-metal wear and moderate abrasion
