NHF-260B is a rutile (high titania) type hardfacing electrode developed for the repair and protection of steel components subjected to light metal-to-metal wear. It deposits a tough, machinable chromium-alloy weld metal that provides good wear resistance while maintaining sufficient ductility for rebuilding and dimensional restoration applications. The electrode offers smooth arc characteristics, easy slag removal, and can be used with both AC and DC (+) welding current.
The deposited weld metal typically contains approximately 0.11% Carbon, 0.37% Silicon, 0.66% Manganese, and 2.20% Chromium, producing a hardness of about 20–27 HRC (240–280 HV). This relatively moderate hardness makes the overlay machinable after welding, making it suitable for components that require final machining to restore dimensions.
