The STANLEY Counter Measuring Wheel, Cat. No. ST177174 (1-77-174 / MW40M) is a heavy-duty mechanical measuring wheel designed for accurately measuring distances over roads, grounds, construction sites, landscaping areas and other relatively rough outdoor surfaces. It uses a 318 mm (12-inch) aluminum wheel with an external rubber coating and a gear-driven mechanical counter.

The STANLEY MW40M provides a convenient way to measure long distances simply by walking the wheel along the surface. Its mechanical counter records the distance traveled and has a push-button reset for returning the reading to zero. The wheel has a durable rubber tread for traction, while the heavy-duty folding handle and ergonomic rubber grip provide comfortable operation. A built-in kickstand allows the unit to remain upright when not in use.
