The MEL Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher is a multipurpose fire protection extinguisher designed for controlling common Class A, Class B and Class C fires, depending on the extinguishing-agent formulation and the certified fire rating of the specific model.

Dry chemical extinguishing powder works by interrupting the chemical chain reaction of combustion while providing a protective barrier over the burning material. Monoammonium phosphate (MAP) formulations are commonly used for ABC dry-chemical extinguishers.

The MEL range can be offered in compact portable sizes for offices, vehicles and commercial areas, as well as high-capacity wheeled units for warehouses, factories, workshops, industrial facilities and other areas requiring greater extinguishing-agent capacity.
